The German nationwide competition,’Vision – Electrically Mobile City of the Future’, was looking for ideas that contribute to shaping the city of the future. The focus was on innovative solutions that can effectively stimulate rapid development of sustainable e-mobility. Included among the prizewinners was Point. One, our solar charging station, with which we succeeded in beating off numerous competitors in the ‘Built’ category. We will be showcasing our new form of solar charging station and our company this Wednesday in Berlin. This battle of ideas was coordinated by a number of bodies including the Fraunhofer Institute, with the awards supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development, where the prizes will be handed out on 7th September.

“The entry from EIGHT GmbH & Co. KG impressed us in particular through its capacity for implementation, its highly developed status and its ecological benefits. Through its elegant architecture coupled with the ability to see renewable energy being integrated into the system of e-mobility, Point. One represents a concrete contribution to the electically mobile city of the future, ” declared the expert jury in substantiating their decision. The jury included Franz Loogen, Chief Executive of the Baden-Württemberg Agency for Electric Mobility and Fuel Cell Technology, and Prof. Dieter Spath, Head of the University of Stuttgart IAT and of the Fraunhofer IAO. In addition to the jury, members of the public with an interest in this area were also able to vote on the different competition entries online.
